In addition to the poster and brochure I created a 3D wall insulation of an origami brain. The installation has doors which can be opened revealing different activities for the designers to do. Things to touch, see, smell and hear, all things which can influence children when they are learning. This experience gets designers to think about how they feel when interacting with the certain noises and fabrics as if they are a child in those situations. After interacting with the institution designers are able to understand how different sounds, textures or environments can influence children when learning. Allowing them to better know how to design, support and encourage them.
Unfold
Unfold is a hypothetical design conference about how designers have the ability to create and design tools to help children gain confidence and inspire them to think bigger. It will dive into the minds of children and encourage designers to think of creative ways to support and guide their learning experiences. Through the use of paper and origami, I wanted to show the lines and creases, to communicate the effect designers have in influencing and sculpting the lives of the people they are designing for.
